Delaware Man Charged with 5th DUI

Delaware police arrested Raymond Warncke, 33, and charged him with his fifth DUI offense this past Sunday. Investigators say that Warncke was driving his Nissan Sentra on South DuPont Highway near Canterbury Road in Felton when he was stopped by a state trooper who noticed he wasn’t wearing his seatbelt.

The traffic stop was conducted at 3:50 p.m. and a DUI investigation began when the officer detected an odor of alcohol. Warncke provided a fake name to the state trooper but a computer check was used to determine his true identity. Police found Warncke to be in violation of a court order mandating that he not be in contact with a 40-year-old female, who they claim was a passenger in the vehicle. He was taken into custody and allegedly was in possession of 11 grams of marijuana.

Warncke was taken to Troop 3 near Camden where a computer inquiry into his driver’s license revealed that he had four previous DUI convictions dating back to 2005. He was charged with a fifth offense DUI, criminal impersonation, marijuana possession, driving with a suspended or revoked license, failing to wear a seatbelt, and breaching release.

As of Monday, Raymond Warncke, was jailed at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $16,501 secured bond.
